The week of the year for GT competitions has come: this weekend Spa-Francorchamps will host the 2017 edition of legendary 24 Hours race, valid for the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup Championship.
Over 60 cars are attended along the Ardennes, with a high level of teams and drivers, who are ready to take home the trophy: among them, with a 100% italian team, there will be also Michele Beretta and Andrea Piccini who, with Stefano Gattuso, aim to bring the Ombra Racing’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 into the Top 10.

The test completed in Belgium before the race gave a positive expectations, although (as every year) the unknowns on the 7 km of the Ardennes circuit will be multiple, from reliability to weather.

Michele Beretta: “We came to the most important race of the year. We tried to prepare everything in the best way, in every detail, because we want to come back home with a good result. Beyond the misfortune suffered at Le Castellet, this year we have been growing and also the team is super motivated. For me it will be the second participation here, but we can count on Andrea’s experience, both in terms of qualification and for the race management. It will undoubtedly be an interesting week!

Andrea Piccini: “Spa is Spa, always has many surprises and when you least expect it, the unknown is around the corner. Unlike last year, the weather promises the classic Ardennes changing conditions and this will make the race even harder. We have been working hard for the two-day test of the beginning of the month and we hope to be among the protagonists and play it for important positions, not only for the result of the race, but also because we can pick up so many points for the standings.

The long weekend in Belgium will kick off on Thursday 27 July with the first free practice (11:50) followed by prequalifications (17:45), qualifying (20:10) and qualifying at night (at 21:55 ). Friday warm-up before seeing the best 30 defeat in the superpole at 19:30. On Saturdays, the 24 Hours will be launched, at 16:30; The race can be followed entirely by live streaming on www.blancpain-gt-series.com while Eurosport will cover the same for a few hours.
