First test days in Barcelona (Spain) for Andrea Piccini and Michele Beretta focused on Blancpain GT Series 2016; two days at the wheel of Grasser Racing’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3, the same that will be used (and share with Luca Stolz) in the most important European series Gran Touring cars series this year.

The target of this session was just to become familiar with the powerful italian car and with the team staff, while the second day the work has been focused on race setups and tires, very stressed in Barcelona racetrack. Beretta has had the opportuity to test the car in qualify settings together new tires, clocking very interesting lap times.

The tests will continue next week in Italy; the first part will see the team in Misano Adriatico, theatre of the first race scheduled in April; here Michele Beretta and Luca Stolz will drive the #19 Lamborghini, while Andrea Piccini will return at the wheel in Monza (March 3-4) which will host the first race of Endurance Series.

Andrea Piccini: “My first contact with the Huracan GT3 has been good; the team is pushing at 100% to fight for the top srom the first race. To understand the true potential of the car, we must wait the end of the month when the 2016 Balance of Performance will be carried out at Paul Ricard. In Barcelona we drove with the 2015 configuration, which provided considerable restrictions for Huracan in terms of weight, power and aerodynamics. The next tests in Italy will be very useful to continue the development work and fine tuning in order to improve our feeling with the car.

Michele Beretta: “Those of Barcelona were two positive days. I was impressed by the team and its work, so professional, and I established immediately a very good relationship, as well as with my new teammates. We perform several tests, both with new and used tires; in Misano Adriatico and Monza there will be important to work also on new key factors like pit stop and drivers change, critical aspects for race strategies. The base is good and this gives me hopes to be competitive from the first race.
