The news is now official: Andrea Piccini will race in the 24 Hours of Spa, scheduled for the last weekend of July (Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th) and he will be at the wheel of a Ferrari 458 GT3 managed by AF Corse. Andrea Piccini has always considered Spa-Francorchamps one of the most beautiful tracks ever and the memories lived in Belgium are among the most exciting of his career: second in 2006 with Aston Martin and the win two years ago with the Audi R8 LMS together Rene Rast and Franz Stippler. For Piccini this will be his eleventh partecipation at Spa 24 Hours race and he will share a Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 with Michele Rugolo, Steve Wyatt and Craig Lowndes in Pro-Am class. The 2014 for Andrea Piccini has been very positive so far: victory in GT Open race at Nurburgring at in the European Le Mans Series at Imola, both with a Ferrari 458 GT3; Spa could be the perfect opportunity to add another trophy in his collection: “Of course – he says – it is a very important opportunity, specially with AF Corse and at the wheel of a Pro-Am car. As always, it will be essential to work very well with team and drivers trying to find a compromise on the car that allows all four drivers to give their best. I’m really happy to be part of one of the most competitive teams in the category and I think that the experience gained in 10 previous appearances at this event will be so helpful. I look so forward to be on track, one of my favourite!”
